VirtualDisk™ will allow you to find and access ANY file you own, whether it is currently on your hard disk, on any of your floppy disks, cartridges, CDs, or remote on a networked volume for which you access. VirtualDisk™ does this by cataloging any removable disk as you eject it - placing the appropriate entries in a catalog volume. Each file is represented by a 0 byte catalog file that contains all the functionality of a System 7 alias. This unlocks the power of System 7 aliases in a way you never dreamed possible. Once cataloged, you are free to search your hard disk and VirtualDisk catalog volume with any file search means you choose (Finder, Find File, Get File dialog, for example). Simply select the desired file and you are prompted to insert the appropriate disk.

VirtualDisk™ monitors changes to your floppies, and removables, and updates its visual catalog accordingly. You will know, with up-to-the-minute accuracy, the location of all your files.

No application to open, nothing new to learn. VirtualDisk's icon resting on your desktop contains a visual catalog of all the files and floppies that you use. It is compact, opens with a double click, looks and feels just like just another disk. Your cataloged files act like compact aliases that, when double clicked on, remember where they came from and prompt you for the appropriate disk.
• Cataloged applications function like real applications.
You can even open a document that was created by an application that is in the catalog. The Finder will launch the catalogs application and you will then be asked to insert the disk containing the actual application.
This program requires System 7 and a SCSI disk with at least 1 Meg of free space to hold the catalog. The accompanying file is an evaluation version of this commercial product. This evaluation program will restrict the catalog size to 2 Megabytes (enough for 10,000 files), and will function for 30 days.
